Burwash Church of England Primary School is situated on School Hill in the heart of the beautiful and historic village of Burwash, in East Sussex.

The school overlooks the Dudwell Valley which is an area of outstanding natural beauty and is close to Batemans, the home of Rudyard Kipling. The school is adjacent to the church of St Bartholomew which allows for a helpful and close relationship. The school is also next to many public footpaths, which makes it easy for teachers to take children out to explore the natural environment without the need to cross roads.

The school, which started as a Charity School in 1729, benefited from a large new extension in 2000, comprising of 3 new classrooms, an office, first aid room and a group room. There is a multi use games area suitable for all weather, which overlooks the Dudwell Valley, as well as a soft surface play equipment trail.

In the summer of 2012 the reception classroom received a complete makeover. We now have some fantastic resources, a super role play area, a play loft for reading in, computer stations, and a state of the art interactive screen that uses an eye safe LCD touchscreen at child height.
